How to cook bao buns

Steam from frozen for light, fluffy buns, or microwave for a quick, convenient meal. All fillings are pre-cooked for easy heat-and-eat.

  1. 1. Fill a pot one third full of water and bring to the boil.
  2. 2. Position the buns inside the steamer and place it over the pot of boiling water.
  3. 3. Reduce the heat to a simmer.
  4. 4. Steam for 10 minutes, or until the buns are soft and heated all the way through.
  5. 5. Fill with your favourite fillings and enjoy!
Microwaved

Microwaved

  1. 1. Use water to wet all surfaces of the frozen bun (this will ensure that the dough doesn’t crack when heated).
  2. 2. Place bun on a plate in the microwave.
  3. 3. Heat on high for a approximately 90 seconds.
  4. 4. Please note: cooking times may vary according to microwave power and quantity cooked.
